wow, those internets still can render me speechless... twas reading this article in the nyt about the power of google to harness the past, whether you like it or not, and was inspired to google myself, for the first time in ages. lo and behold, i found a genealogy site put together by... well, i'll still trying to figure out what he is to me... a guy whose grandfather was also my great-grandfather. he has a pdf tracing his family (and, by extension, mine-- sorta) back to something like the 1200s. (maybe farther-- i've only scanned through 100+ pages of the document. wowsa.
